New Rider
At CBT Bike Training, we provide a range of courses tailored to individual needs, ensuring your motorcycle training experience is both safe and enjoyable. Our teaching approach aligns with the Driving Vehicle Standards Agency’s (DVSA) philosophy of gradual, structured training over a duration.
Our 'New Rider' course spans one hour under the guidance of a certified DVSA instructor. Conducted in a secure, off-road setting, it prioritizes your comfort by ensuring you're not feeling pressured to perform in front of others—especially vital for those feeling apprehensive about mounting a motorcycle for the first time. If you're new to the world of motorcycling, the benefits of this course cannot be emphasized enough.
The course fee covers motorcycle or scooter rental, as well as the provision of motorcycle safety attire and helmet.
Before enrolling in any of our motorbike courses, it's essential that you possess competent bicycle riding skills, and demonstrate good balance and control.
Young Rider
Are you a 16-year-old taking the first step?
For 16-year-olds new to the road, we offer a one-hour introductory lesson. You'll spend the hour in our secure off-road area, learning to handle a 50cc automatic scooter.
This program is crafted to ensure young beginners like your son or daughter have an optimum start before progressing to the Compulsory Basic Training (CBT).
Do note, our fleet consists only of automatic 50cc mopeds without manual clutch and gears.
For those aged 17 and above unfamiliar with manual motorcycles (featuring clutch & gears), our New Rider course equips you with foundational skills and confidence. This will ease your transition to CBT. Within our safe off-road training space, you'll grasp essentials like starting, stopping, gear shifts, and then delve into advanced manoeuvers like figure-of-eights and U-Turns.
Remember, the duration of each training course is tailored, based on individual proficiency. Our trainers provide guidance on the required training length post an evaluation of your riding abilities, which can be gauged during the CBT road ride (Module E).
